Why Being Belgian Protects You

We're not a US tech company. That matters more than you think. Belgium has some of the world's strictest data protection laws (GDPR), and as a Belgian company, we must follow them—not the weaker US regulations.

Many popular health apps (Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, Strava) are US companies. They can—and do—sell your health data to third parties, including insurance companies, pharmaceutical firms, and advertisers. We legally cannot do this, even if we wanted to.

What We Collect (and Why)

Your Health Data

The information you track daily: energy levels, sleep quality, movement, nutrition, stress, mental clarity, social connections, and life satisfaction. This is your personal health journal.

Why we need it: To generate your weekly insights and show you patterns over time.

Who sees it: Only you. Optional: people you invite as "Best Health Friends."

Your Email Address

We send you daily tracking emails and weekly insights.

Why we need it: That's how the entire system works.

Who sees it: Only our email system. We never share it.

Technical Data

Basic information like when you open emails, which links you click, what browser you use.

Why we need it: To make sure emails arrive and the system works properly.

Who sees it: Only our technical team. It's not linked to your name.

What We DON'T Collect

• Your real name (you can use a nickname)
• Your exact location (we only know your general region)
• Your browsing history outside our emails
• Any financial information (payments processed by secure third parties)
• Photos or images
• Contacts from your device

How We Protect Your Data

• Encryption: All data encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
• EU Servers: Data stored on secure servers in Europe (never leaves EU)
• Access Control: Only essential team members can access systems (with audit logs)
• Regular Security Audits: Third-party security testing and vulnerability scanning
• No Third-Party Tracking: No Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or ad networks
• Secure Deletion: When you delete data, it's permanently removed (not just hidden)

Your Rights Under GDPR

As an EU resident (or anyone using our service), you have these rights:

• Right to Access: See all data we have about you
• Right to Rectification: Correct any wrong information
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Delete all your data permanently
• Right to Export: Download your complete health history in standard format
• Right to Object: Stop us from processing your data
• Right to Restrict: Limit how we use your data
• Right to Complain: File complaint with Belgian Data Protection Authority
